Bryanston at the 2025 Gloucester Head: A Strong Showing in Junior Categories
Following their efforts at SHORR, Bryanston School’s rowers took to the water again at the Gloucester Head, another key event in the rowing calendar. Competing in multiple categories, Bryanston delivered some notable performances, including a standout win in the Open J18 8+ category.
In the Open J18 8+, Bryanston claimed victory with a time of 18:50.1, securing first place in their category. This result marks a significant improvement and a confidence boost for the crew as they continue their season.
Additionally, Bryanston’s W 2x Band 1 entry finished in second place with a time of 23:52.2, showing promise in the sculling events. The crew demonstrated strong technique and endurance, narrowly missing out on first place but proving their ability to compete at a high level.
The fastest crew of the day was Habs Monmouth ‘A’ in the Open 8+ category, finishing in 18:14.5, just ahead of Swansea University’s ‘A’ crew (18:15.6). Bryanston’s win in the J18 8+ category placed them among strong competition, demonstrating their ability to hold their own in a field that included university and club crews.
With this victory at Gloucester Head, Bryanston’s J18 8+ crew has set a positive trajectory for the season. The team will look to build on this momentum as they head toward upcoming regattas.
